The lot features a late-19th-century double barrel side by side percussion pistol with beautiful American Indian brass tacking. The pistol shows a double barrel percussion cap black powder example with side exposed hammers as well as chambered in .40 caliber, stamped on the barrel, “F. Dumoulin / Liege / Belgium”. The Dumoulin company manufactured firearms in Liege, Belgium in the late 1800’s selling to trading companies, one in France and another in England. Many being shipped into the Eastern U.S. This pistol was noted as being collected from the Cherokee of North Carolina of the Eastern Woodlands. Overall measures 14 ½-inches in total length and the barrels being about 8 ½-inches long. The entire wood shows a brass metal tacked finish, overall good condition and still functioning.
