The lot features a 19th Century trade leather tacked belt and sheath with trade knife from the Blackfoot Native American Indians of the Northern Plains of Montana. The piece is from a Montana collection and is comprised of harness saddle leather in classic Blackfoot pattern. The belt sheath and wide belt are adorned with brass covered metal trade tacks with a solid brass buckle having a wonderful crackled worn orignal patina finish. The trade knife shows a thick forged blade with bone, possibly Buffalo Bison, two piece grips. The blade has a pitted finish and the grips shows wonderful dark yellow to brown honest wear. Truly a fine set showing well preserved good condition. Provenance: From a Montana collection. Belt measures 37.5"L from end of buckle to end of thin belt piece, by 2 5/8"W. Sheath is 10.5"L by 3.5"W. Knife is 11 5/8"L. Blackfoot / Blackfeet.
