Featured in this lot is this 19th-century Orszagos Trofea Biralo Bizottsag, Budapest, Hungary Fallow deer mount. The deer mount features a wonderfully and professionally crafted taxidermy construction that shows impressive fallow deer antlers with skull cap and mounted on a painted hardwood shield with floral decoration and design. The medal strung from the mount shows a stag head on one side and reads as follows on the other: Orszagos Trofea Biralo Bizottsag (National Trophy Judicial Committee) - Budapest. The condition of this fallow deer mount is good with some slight wear to the painted hardwood shield but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The measurements of this deer mount is 32" x 23 1/4" x 17". The collective weight of this deer mount is 6lb 14oz.
Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
