Featured in this lot are five, original circa 1880s - 1890s photographs of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. The first in this lot is a large format image showing a row of Native American warriors on horseback in full war or dance regalia. The back is marked “BUFFALO BILL’S WILD WEST”. After reviewing other Buffalo Bill parade photographs, we can confirm the several of the Indians as being the same as in this photo. Truly a rare photo of such an iconic representation of the American Wild West. The original silver gelatin / albumen photograph is clear and is on the same dark cabinet boudoir card as the other examples with a beveled gilt edge showing some slight wear. The second photo is another original photograph of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show in the 19th Century. The large format image shows a row of Native American warriors on horseback in full regalia. The back is stamped “BUFFALO BILL’S WILD WEST”. After reviewing other Buffalo Bill parade photographs, we can confirm the several of the Indians as being the same as in this photo, especially the leader with his towing feathered coup stick. The image is clear with a small imperfection at the middle lower third, card has some wear at the edges, but overall, well kept. The third and fourth photos show a similar scene as the first two photos. The images show a row of Native American warriors on horseback in full war or dance regalia. The backs are marked reading, "Buffalo Bill's Wild West". The images are clear and show gold gilt rounded corners with slight wear present. The fifth and final photo shows a group of five men standing and posing for the photo being taken. One Native American man sits on a bike. It is set on a white paper board backing and is marked on the back in pencil reading, "With Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show In England 1890's". It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The fifth visible photo measures 4 7/8" L x 3 7/8" W, while the entire piece measures 6 3/8" L x 5 3/8" W. They have a collective weight of 113.9 grams.
