The lot features a 19th Century beaded hide pocket watch pouch / bag from the Chiricahua Apache Native American Indians. The piece is comprised of Indian tanned hide being sinew sewn with period correct 1800's glass trade seed beads in a geometric beadwork and Maltese cross motif. The beadwork shows colors of greasy yellow, semi-transparent rose, semi-transparent green, and light blue. The piece shows a round pouch with tab and would have held an old pocket watch, with other documented examples from the Chiricahua Apache. Shows some bead loss and very slight hide tear but overall soft supple hide. Found to be an authentic circa late 1800's Apache example by the experts at Pook and Pook. Measures 8"L by 2.75"W.
