This is an excellent brass trade tacked belt and sheath sets with trade knife from the Northern Plains tribe of the Crow dating to the 19th Century. The set shows harness saddle trade leather with a typical pattern sheath with a dark brown coloring covered in brass trade tacking in a banded pattern, commonly seen from this period from the Crow and Blackfeet tribes. The old trade knife that accompanies the sheath shows a wooden handle with copper / brass rivets and brass trade tack designs in cross motifs on both sides. A truly nice set in good overall condition with expected wear from age. The piece was collected from the Crow in Colorado and is form the Tom Hardy ex-collection in Indianapolis, Indiana. The belt is 43 inches long by 2 inches wide and the knife is 12 ½ inches long.
