The blade shows thick sturdy construction possibly fashioned from farm equipment; and shows a brass cross hilt with a single antler tine handle and sharp representation blade. The Bowie knife is a pattern of fixed-blade fighting knife created by James Black in the early 19th century for Jim Bowie, who had become famous for his use of a large knife at a duel known as the Sandbar Fight. The leather sheath was custom made specifically for this knife and shows sturdy examples of leather. The condition of this knife is good showing no obvious signs of damage and in good working condition. The measurements of this knife are 18" x 2 3/4" x 2".
