Featured in this lot is this Navajo Transitional Period blanket from the late-19th century. The blanket features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a Transitional Period design with stepped lining to make up the geometric pattern in the large scale field of the rug colored red with lining of black and light brown coloration. The rug shows Lazy Lines throughout the rug. The condition of this Navajo rug is well preserved with only slight wear to the weaving but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this rug is 85" x 65". Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
