This is a fantastic Navajo Transitional Period diamond blanket / serape from the late-19th-century. The blanket is a wonderful textile with a red field and interwoven diamond geometric pattern in a banded design with colors of dark brown and light brown along with cream / white. This is a classic example of a Navajo Transitional Blanket / Serape. The rug shows obvious lazy lines. The condition of this Navajo rug is well preserved with little to no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 73" x 48". Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
