Featured in this lot is this Plains belt knives circa 19th century with a 20th century leather sheath. There are three Plains Indians belt knives in this collection with one leather sheath. Two of the knives are unmarked with clip points and wooden handles; and the third knife shows a Bowie fighting knife design with a clip point and is etched "LEM - 5-1-36" and is believed to be etched well later than its origin. The leather sheath is a 20th century thick leather sheath with buck stitching to secure it together. The condition of this collection of Plains belt knives and sheath is preserved with oxidation and a slight patina adorning the blades and the handles of all three knives with some slight wear to the leather sheath. The measurements of this collection of knives and sheath is 13" x 1 5/8" and 10 3/8" x 1 1/4" and 10 1/4" x 1 1/8" for the knives and the sheath measures 8 5/8" x 3 1/4".
