This lot features a 19th-century bi-point stone war club from the Sioux of South Dakota Territory. The club was previously noted as being from the Indian Wars era from the South Dakota Sioux. The club shows a bi-point carved stone war club head which is secured to the wooden haft handle with a large wrap of parfleche rawhide. The handle is covered in parfleche rawhide which is sinew sewn. The center section of rawhide has a red mineral painted finish. The club itself has fabulous original patina and is well kept. Provenance: From the ex-Old Barn collection sold right around or after Jan Sorgenfrei. The large club, likely used on horse back, measures 26.75-inches long with the head being 7”L x 2.25”W x 2.25”H.*
