This is an excellent hitched horsehair headstall made in Utah in the 19th century. The headstall shows a finely crafted construction with braided and hitched horse hair, as well as a silver bit. The tooling on the headstall depicts a battle formation and is marked "16-1". The headstall is made of forged iron with a heavy silver overlay. It is in good condition for age, with one of the straps broken. It measures 24" long.
