For your consideration is this 19th century walnut Black Forest style rocking chair. The top rail of the rocking chair shows a nice scalloped cut design with a half ladder and half splat back rest. There are two carved splats on the top part, then a middle rail, then two lower carved splats finishing with a lower rail. The armrests are thin towards the backrest and get thicker towards the front of the chair, showing notched carvings on the underside and front of the armrests. The seat is upholstered with leather, and hammered and etched brass furniture tacks. The chair shows a large skirt or apron with two square holes and notched carvings on the bottom. Overall the chair shows good condition with no signs of obvious damage or wear. The chair measures 36 3/4" L x 24 3/4" W x 48 1/4" H.
