This is a fabulous fully beaded men's belt from the Assinboine of Montana of the 19th century, collected from the Rosebud Indian Reservation from the ex-collection of Ted and Lilly Jarvis and a private Jackson collection. The belt exhibits Indian tanned hide with an old muslin trade clothe backing. The front shows a wonderful fully beaded geometric pattern done in all old glass trade beads, being sinew sewn showing a tiered tab and Maltese cross design with a light padre blue background and colors of greasy yellow, cobalt and red. Overall well kept with little bead loss, some patina from honest age but well kept. Measures overall 38-inches long by 1.75-inches wide.
