The lot features a fantastic set of 19th-century Cheyenne Greasy Yellow Buffalo Track beaded buffalo hide child's moccasins from the ex-Cowans / Hindman auctions and ex-private Montana collection. The set exhibits Indian tanned Buffalo / Bison hide that is sinew sewn and shows ceremonial soft Indian hide bottoms covered on the tops with 1800's old glass trade seed bead beadwork in a geometric design. The set shows a greasy yellow background with Buffalo Track pattern in faceted metal / brass along with beads in cobalt, greasy light blue, and Cheyenne pink. The medium high ankle and large tongue, both in Buffalo hide are still present. Provenance: From the ex-Cowan's / Hindman and a private Montana collection of Native American beadwork and artifacts. Little to no bead loss, well kept. Each moccasin measures overall 4.5-inches by 2.5-inches wide by 2-inches high.
