The lot features four 1800’s large six-layered Venetian Chevron beads in red and cobalt. Chevron beads, also called "Rosetta" and "Star" beads, have been made in Venice since the late 1400's. The Venetian Chevron production with the highest volume of beads was in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Chevron beads have been traded throughout the world, including North America and heavily in Africa. The lot shows two six-layer large beads with cobalt, white and a pipestone red coloring, in very good condition and measures 1 3/8-inches long by about 1 1/8-inches wide. The next shows two six-layer beads with a semi-transparent red and white coloring, in very good condition and each measures about 1.5-inches long by 1-inches wide.
