The lot features a fantastic beaded Indian buffalo hide Southern Plains knife sheath and old trade knife from the 19th-century from the Kiowa; ex-collection of Dale Harrison Cincinnati, Ohio. The sheath exhibit an Indian brain-tanned buffalo / bison hide construction. The sheath is beautifully beaded in typical Kiowa geometric designs and colors of the period showing all old glass trade seed beads showing colors of chalk white, greasy light blue, orange and semi-transparent red. The sheath shows nice wear on the hide back side and original belt Indian buffalo hide tie strap atop. Paired with an old classic trade knife with brass trade tack and larger silver trade tack designs. Provenance: From the ex-Dale Harrison Cincinnati, Ohio collection. Sheath measures 8.5-inches in length by 3-inches wide and the knife is 10.5-inches long.
