For your consideration is 19th Century marked forged iron axe. This piece is stamped by the blacksmith "PC" and has a tear drop eye. It is built with a hickory or oak haft handle, with a forest felling style forged iron axe head. Overall this axe is in great condition with a smooth solid haft, and some surface rust on head, and has been well preserved for age and use. The piece measures overall 36"L with the head being 7"L with a 3"L blade and 1 3/4"D eyelet hole.
