The lot features an 1800's Penobscot burl wood war club with a Bird Effigy carving from the New England Maine to Great Lakes Woodlands. The piece shows a carved bird head effigy and is carved from a root burl single piece of wood with incised carved handle with amazing dark painted finish. The hea shows a carved beak with carved eyes, mouth and painted with unique geometric symbols. The gripping area shows bark on with a shiny deep patina. Truly a rare and early example. Measures overall 24-inches long and the head is about 6-inches by 5-inches by 5-inches.

All items will ship at our North American Auction Company in-house shipping department. Please allow up to 14-21 days after a complete invoice payment is made to package and ship your purchase.
