The lot features a beautifully beaded Buffalo Hide knife sheath from the Sioux and old trade knife, both dating to the late 19th Century. The sheath has a wonderful classic geometric beadwork design done in all period correct glass trade seed beads with a row of rolled tin jingle dangle cones at the top third line, a traditional Sioux pattern. The beadwork shows colors of greasy yellow, cobalt, semi-transparent rose, blue, greasy medium green and medium green. The sheath is made of hardened Buffalo Bison Indian hide with the original tie strap still attached at the top with old brass trade beads. The old trade knife shows an old stag handle knife with dark blade, a classic 19th Century trad knife. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Tom Hardy Indianapolis, IN.
