Brininstool, the acclaimed cowboy poet, was a prolific author on the subject of Indian Wars, especially on the Little Big Horn battle. This book provides a detailed account of the Plains Indian Wars of the late 19th century, culminating in the infamous Battle of Little Bighorn. This account of Custer's adventures is told from the perspective of Ned Fletcher, a bugler who served under the general. From the westward expansion of Northern Pacific Railway, the dramatic events and rugged landscapes of the Great Plains to Custer's encounters with Sitting Bull and the famous Battle of the Little Bighorn, this account of Custer's adventures is told in an engaging manner and is based upon extensive research. Sabin muses on what really happened at the Battle of Little Bighorn and weaves us a tale that seamlessly combines entertaining storytelling with factual accuracy. Edwin L. Sabin (1870-1952) was a prominent historian of the American West, primarily of boys' adventure stories, mostly set in the American West. The book draws on first-hand accounts and contemporary sources to tell the story of General George Custer and his ill-fated campaign against the Sioux Indians.
