Featured in this lot is this outstanding, scarce, 24.37 carat Tanzanite and diamond platinum pendant necklace with GIA paperwork. The stone exhibits an exceptionally scarce, large, 24.37 carat size and a very good rectangular cushion mixed cut with measurements of 18.84 x 14.55 x 10.95mm. The stone shows an exceptional neon Bluish Violet (moderately strong Blue Violet / Purple) color, which is considered AAA. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzanite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). This example is a nearly flawless eye clarity and unbelievable depth with transparent finish. The pendant shows a PT950 platinum construction with eight prong set, large natural Tanzanite at the center with a large bezel halo and loop, set with a total of 37 round brilliant cut natural Diamonds with high clarity of VS2 to I1 and color of F-H. The necklace comes with GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Identification Grading Report#: 5201917851, which confirms this as being a natural rare example. This is a wonderful necklace, the best quality that money can buy. A similar necklace was appraised at a value of $109,000. The measurements of this necklace from clasp to clasp are 18" and the pendant measures 1 1/2" x 3/4".
