Featured in this lot is a second edition of "Vigilante Days and Ways" by Nathaniel Pitt Langford published in 1912. The book provides a dramatic account of early Montana history beginning in the 1860's when the promise of gold brought masses of people to the territory. Often times justice was carried out by the Vigilantes, a band of so-called lawmen who sometimes would pronounce judgement on an accused person. They would hastily perform hangings in the name of justice. The book shows good overall condition. It measures 5.75" x 8.5".
