Featured in this lot is this 3.01 carat pear tanzanite and diamond, 14k white gold ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished and stamped 14k gold ring with a total weight of 3.5g and the 'Orianne' hallmark and 14k gold stamp. The center stone is natural pear cut tanzanite gemstone with measurements of 12.2mm x 7.8mm, bluish violet coloration, a very good cut grade, and a total weight of 3.01 carats. The pave set shoulders and pear shape halo setting show a total of 34 natural round brilliant cut diamonds with a color gradient of F – G, clarity of VS2 - SI1, and a total weight of 0.45 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K33E75-EA15864) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $8,137.00. The ring size is US 7.
