Featured in this lot is this 6.46 tanzanite diamond and 18k white gold ring with GAL paperwork. The ring shows a wonderfully and professionally crafted polished, stamped and tested 18k white gold construction and shows a ' Orianne' hallmark with a 18k gold stamp to the right of the hallmark. The center stone is a pear mixed cut natural tanzanite with measurements of 13.5 x 10.51 x 6.81mm and a total weight of 6.46 carats with bluish violet coloration and moderate saturation and is transparent. The center stone is decorated with two pear shape halo decoration with a total of 80 round brilliant cut diamond with a total weight of 0.29 carats and shows VS clarity with F - G color gradient. Tanzanite is an exceedingly rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with GAL(Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America, Inc., a GIA certified lab GAL Appraisal Number#: GAL202211727) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $14,900.00.
