Featured in this lot 7.06 tanzanite VS2 diamond and platinum earrings with AIGL paperwork. The earrings feature polished, stamped and tested platinum dangle earrings with a bright finish and are from designer Orianne and shows a 'PT950' stamp next to the hallmark. The center stones feature two modified brilliant pear cut tanzanite gemstones that measure 13 x 7mm and shows violetish blue coloration and a very good cut grade and a total weight of 7.06 carats. The dangle design and pear shape halo ring are profusely decorated with a total 120 round brilliant cut natural diamonds with measurements of 1 x 2.5mm and a color gradient of G - H and a clarity of VS2 and a total diamond weight of 0.92 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles).
