In this lot is a collection of eight large, white opaque Dutch Dogon beads. Dogon beads receive their name from the Dogon people. The Dogon people are a tribal collective comprising a large proportion of the Bandiagara populus – Bandiagara being located within Mali. Dogon Beads are still prominent in supply there, since the Dogon tribe favored these trade beads amongst all others, accepting them graciously between the 18th-20th Centuries. These beads are 1” round. Two of the beads are a very pure, clean white; the other six beads have a slight grey tint. These beads are in good condition, with one bead having a chip.
