Featured in this lot is this limited edition, painted pewter sculpture inspired by Frederic Remington titled, "A Dash For The Timber" done by Anne McGrory in 1990, presented by Chilmark, U.S.A.. Anne McGrory, born in New Hampshire, recieved her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in Illustration. She is an avid painter of birds and wildlife and as a sculptor, she produced limited edition western-themed and wildlife pieces, including miniature works by and inspired by C.M. Russell and Frederick Remington. This pewter is a limited edition numbered 452 out of 950. It shows two cowboys on horseback racing to the wooded area as one cowboy grabs the back of the neck of the other, trying to stop him. It is vividly painted and is marked on the bottom reading, "A.T. McGrory / 452/950 / Fine Pewter U.S.A. / © 1990 Chilmark". On the bottom of the wood stand is a circular inlaid plaque reading, "A Dash For The Timber Inspried By Frederick Rremington / ©1990 / Chilmark Fine Pewter U.S.A.". It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. The entire piece measures 5 3/8" L x 7 5/8" W x 6 1/4" H and weighs 3 pounds and 8 ounces.
