This is a very fine first edition of "A Daughter of the Sioux" written by Gen. Charles King and published in 1903 by The Hobart Company. It is illustrated by Frederick Remington and Edwin Willard Deming. "A Daughter of the Sioux" is a classic tale of the Old West and the demise of the Indian. The book was written by Gen. Charles King, a United States soldier and a distinguished writer. He graduated from West Point in 1866 and served in the Army during the Indian Wars under George Crook. He was wounded in the arm, forcing his retirement from the regular army. During this time, he became acquainted with Buffalo Bill Cody. King would later write scripts for several of Cody's silent films. He wrote and edited over 60 books and novels. The book's illustrations are by Frederic Remington and Edwin Willard Deming. The condition of this book is good with some wear to the cover of the book and a browning to the pages of the book consistent with age but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this book is 7 5/8" x 5 1/4".
