Featured in this lot is this collection of A&N CSL, wooden and brass 19th century fly fishing reels. There are five fly fishing reels in this collection. The first is a Army and Navy CSL fly fishing reel is marked on the face with: A&N CSL Makers 105 Victoria S. Westmenister Patent. The next three are unmarked 19th centruy fly fishing reels with wooden and horn handles and the actions show a clicking sound. The last is a wooden reel with wooden handles and action with a brass mount, this reel is unmarked also circa 19th century. The condition of this collection of reels is well preserved with some slight wear to the wooden reel but the brass reels show only slight patina and a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of these reels ranges from 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" to 3 7/8" x 3 7/8". The collective weight of this collection of fly fishing reels is 4lb 14oz.
Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
