Offered in this lot are two rare souvenir train route booklets. The first booklet is dated 1933 and titled "Souvenir of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad and Associated Lines", "Published for the occasion of A Century of Progress Exposition Chicago 1933". The booklet tells the history of the railroads in the areas of development and then talks about the special train car made for the exposition. The next booklet is from The Great Northern Railway Scenic Route West Empire Builder. This booklet shows photos and tells about the places you can visit and see when riding this route. This was an advertising booklet to encourage people to vacation by rail, rather than cars on the highways; it reads "Don’t waste Precious Vacation Time Touring The Highways Take The Train For Comfort, Safety, and Economy". This booklet has had clear tape placed on it. Both of these booklets are in good shape for their age, considering they were not meant to last.
