Featured in this lot is this framed print, originally taken by Alfred S. Campbell, of Evelyn Nesbit posing on a tiger rug, titled, "The Tiger Head" circa mid 1900s. Alfred S. Campbell (1840-1912) was a photographer and entrepreneur. Born in England, he emigrated to the U.S. and managed Napoleon Sarony's studio. He founded Alfred S. Campbell Art Company in Elizabeth NJ, which was also known as AS Campbell Art Company. He then opened Campbell Studios, in New York City, with Rudolf Eickemeyer. Campbell's fine art photographs are in the Alfred Stieglitz Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This print shows Evelyn Nesbit posing on top of a full tiger rug as she looks towards the viewer with a serious look on her face. It reads, "Copyright 1902 A.S. Campbell Art Co. / The Tiger-Head posed by Evelyn Nesbit" in the bottom left hand corner. The piece is set in a black colored frame and shows good condition overall with no signs of damage noted. The visible print measures 18 5/8" L x 11 1/4" W, while the entire piece measures 20 3/8" L x 13 1/8" W x 7/8" D. It weighs 2 pounds and 12 ounces.
