Featured in this lot is this Acacia Live Edge console table circa 20th century. The console table features a wonderfully and professionally crafted live edge Acacia wood construction that shows a beautifully crafted design in the upright shape of a nine with layers of wood and coloration. The edges are sanded and polished down in Live Edge decoration. Acacia, known commonly as mimosa, acacia, thorntree or wattle, is a polyphyletic genus of shrubs and trees belonging to the subfamily Mimosoideae of the family Fabaceae. It was described by the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus in 1773 based on the African species Acacia nilotica. Live edge or natural edge is a style of furniture where the furniture designer or craftsperson incorporates the natural edge of the wood into the design of the piece. The condition of this live edge end table is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this table is 27 1/2" x 27" x 13 1/2".
