For your consideration is are two 1920-30s Acoma Pueblo pottery pieces from New Mexico. Miniature pottery animals and figurines are a celebrated tradition of the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico. Known for their thin walls and intricate polychrome designs, these pieces typically feature black and orange/terracotta motifs on a white slip. The first in this lot shows a polychrome painted dog fetish showing colors of red / brown, black and a base color of beige. It shows good attention to detail and no signs of damage noted. The second piece is a spoon or a ladle and features geometric designs throughout the piece showing a brown color. The bottom of the piece is marked with Trade postal and reads, "#2 / 176 / 177". It has a small handle on one side of the piece. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The dog effigy measures 6 1/4" L x 2 5/8" W x 4 1/2" H, while the ladle measures 5 1/2" L x 3 1/4" W x 1 3/4" H. They have a collective weight of 14 ounces.
