For bidding in this lot is an early 1st edition copy of Across the Continent by Samuel Bowles. The hardbound novel includes the original folding map, and was published in 1866 by Hurd & Houghton. The novel talks of the trials and tribulations from Massachusetts all the way to the Yosemite Valley. The novel shows good condition overall with some wear to the outside spine and shows some paint spots to the outside cover but otherwise shows good overall condition. The book measures 7 3/4" tall, 5 1/4" wide, and 1 3/8" thick.
