For your consideration is an Original Signed Oil on Canvas, "SCHLOSSALTAN" , circa 1906-1918, After Raphael Tuck & Sons "Oilette, Wide-Wide-World" series, No. 610 postcard, signed "R. Engel". Originally painted by British artist Charles Edwin Flower (1871-1951) who worked for almost 40 years for the London postcard publisher Raphael Tuck & Sons. Unique in this oil painting is the Kingdom of Slavonia flag above the tower. Slavonia was part of the Habsburg monarchy and the Austrian Empire, which ruled the region until the end of WW I, which would date this painting to circa 1906-1918. This oil on canvas painting is mounted in an Art Nouveau style wood frame which features vintage gold gilt plaster moulding coat of arms, shield and floral decor. The painting appears to be in nice condition, frame has areas of moulding missing. Visible art measures 21.5"W x 35.5"L, frame is 29.25"W x 43.25"L x 3"D, weight 14lb, 8oz.
