Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In just over a decade he created about 2100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, and are characterised by bold, symbolic colours, and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art. He died by suicide at 37, following years of mental illness and poverty. The condition of this framed painting is good with the artwork in good condition; however the frame is in poor condition with wear to the pine wood and the back falling apart. The measurements of this framed after Van Gogh are 28 1/2" x 24 1/2" and the visible art measures 20" x 15 1/4". Van Gogh's original paintings of Sunflowers are among his most famous.
