For your consideration is this rare and stunning natural dark blue sapphire corundum, diamond and platinum ring with AIGL paperwork and GIA Gemological report. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 900/1000 platinum construction with a rare, unheated natural corundum sapphire set in the center of the ring. The sapphire was recovered in Thailand, features an oval shape with brilliant cut crown and step cut pavilion cuts. The gemstone measures 9.33 x 7.57 x 4.55mm, shows a transparent dark blue color, has a refractive index of 1.762 - 1.770, a birefringence of 0.008 - 0.010 and a hardness of 9. The two round, antique single cut natural diamonds are set on either side of the gemstone showing measurements of 1.7mm, a clarity grade of VS2, a color grade of H, a refractive index of 2.417, a hardness of 10 and a carat total weight of 0.04. The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc.(American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K42D16-EA19840) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $14,756.00. GIA Gemological report number: 5222436428. The ring size is US 10 and weighs 5.0 grams.
