For your consideration is a sterling & gold nugget Alaskan bear belt buckle, circa 2000. This belt buckle was made to thank Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager's speech in support of SCI 4-29-2000 Alaska. Chuck was the first (recorded) man to break the sound barrier and was well known for hunting, fishing and supporting the SCI in Alaska. The belt buckle features a sterling construction and hammered pure natural gold nugget accents around the top. Set in the center is a bear wading through the river with a fish in its mouth. Above and coming around the sides of the bear, it shows the hammered gold nuggets. The back of the buckle reads, "Gen. Chuck Yeager With Sincere Thanks / Northern AK CHPT. SCI 4-29-2000". The back of the buckle shows hammered sterling. The piece shows good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage present. The buckle measures 1 3/4"L x 2 1/4"W x 1"H. The buckle weighs 65.1 grams.*
