Featured in this lot is this pair of Alaskan caribou antlers (possibly sheds). There is one pair of antlers in this listing, with a bone white coloration and no obvious signs of human manipulation (possibly sheds). The antlers show their forward paddles and impressive main body of tine. Bboth males and females grow and shed their antlers annually, but they do so at different times: bulls shed after the fall mating season (rut), while pregnant females keep theirs all winter, shedding them shortly after giving birth in spring. The condition of this pair of caribou antlers is in well preserved condition with natural white coloration untainted and showing separate from each other or a skull cap. The measurements of this pair of caribou antlers is 31 1/4" x 29 1/2" and 30" x 27 1/4". The collective weight of these antlers is 6lb 12oz.
