Featured in this lot is this limited edition wax cast bronze sculpture done by renowned sculptor Allen F. Weidhaas (1954-2020) in 1997. Allen Weidhaas was born and raised in Massachusetts. By the age of 16, he had established a strong passion for art. He graduated from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1974 with a degree in graphic design and illustration. He spent several years working in the advertising industry. Allen is self-taught in sculpting. For more than 20 years, he worked largely in wood to maintain the great detail for which he was recognized. In addition to wood, he worked with metal, stone, and baked clay. Allen resumed producing limited edition lost wax cast bronze sculptures in 1997. He continues to create one-of-a-kind woodcarvings, but there is a renewed emphasis on bronze sculpture. Most of his sculptures were cast in Montana where he had a part-time studio. This limited edition bronze sculpture shows a fishing creel with a fishing reel sitting next to it. The back is signed reading, "Allen F. Weidhaas 13/75 ©1997". This is limited edition number 13 out of 75. The piece shows good condition overall with no wear or damage present. It measures 3 7/8" L x 7 3/8" W x 2 7/8" H and weighs 1 pound and 10 ounces.
