Featured in this lot is this framed print titled, "El Canon" originally done by Amado Maurilio Pena in the late 20th century. Amado Maurilio Pena (1943-) is an American visual artist and art educator of Mexican and Yaqui ancestry. He is known as an important Mexican American artist who emerged from the historical Chicano Movement. He has had artwork featured in the important exhibition Chicano Art: Resistance and Affirmation. This print shows a man and a woman riding on horse back through a large canyon. The colors are bright and vivid and show great gradients. The print is double matted with red and egg white matting paper and sits in a gold colored metal frame. The piece and frame show good condition overall with slight wear present to the frame from its use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The visible art measures 7 5/8" L x 9 5/8" W, while the entire piece measures 14 3/8" L x 16 1/4" W x 7/8" D. It has a total weight of 3 pounds and 2 ounces.
