Featured in this lot is this Ledger art from Amidon, North Dakota circa 1880. This ledger art depicts a scene of a ceremonially dressed Native American man (attributed to Lakota Sioux due to the region of origin) waving a dancing wand and carrying a spear with a Nation's flag attached. For nearly 70 years, ledger art was a transitional medium that mirrored the changes in Plains Indian life at the time. The condition of this framed ledger art is good with no obvious signs of damage and in well preserved display condition. The measurements of this framed ledger art is 17" x 22" and the visible art measures 8 1/4" x 13 1/2". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery.
