For your consideration is this wonderful Anatolian Ateri Kilim Rug from the Caucus Mountain dating to circa 1890. The Persian Kilim rug features a large field framed in three different borders, each border having its own pattern or symbol. Inside the center field is another repeating symbol in subtle shades of brown, pink, orange and white. Standing back, one notices that the colors are arranged as to form larger diamond shaped patterns running through the center of the field. The field itself is two different colors. Roughly 5/8 of the center field is a kind of chambray--or light blue--color. The other 3/8 of the center field is black; the border also undergoes some color changes on one end. The runner has fringe on both sides. This Kilim runner is in good condition for its age and has an excellent look. It measures 49.5" x 119". Anatolia is the geographic historical term noting the Western most protrusion of Asia comprising the majority of the Republic of Turkey.
