Antique Frontier Plains Tacked Inlaid Trade Knives

The lot features three antique trade knives from the Plains of the American Frontier. The first example shows pewter inlays in the handle and brass tacking designs on both sides with pewter end cap at the top and bottom of the grip with a one piece hardwood handle, this knife is 14.5-inches long. There is a faint makers mark stamped in the blade that is indiscernible. This blade is consistent with Plains Indians examples. The next knife shows a larger or wider blade in more of a Cowboy Frontier pattern, is also 14.5-inches in length and shows dark hard wood handle with brass caps on the front and back and circular brass tacking design around three copper handle rivets. The third knife shows a classic Plains Indian skinning, belt knife with wood handle wrapped in old buckskin, measures 10-inches long. Three knife Frontier to Plains trade knives with nice patina and age.
