Featured in this lot is this McKenney & Hall Wa-Bish-Kee-Pe-Nas The White Pigeon - A Chippewa colored etching early lightography originally painted by Charles Bird King. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted lithograph construction that is hand colored to show this Native American man shirtless and wearing a peace medal and reads as follows: Wa-Bish-Kee-Pe-Nas - The White Pigeon - A Chippewa - Published By E.C. Biddle, Philadelphia. - Printed & Colored at I.T. Bowen's Lithographic Establishment No. 94 Walnut St. - Entered according to act of Congress in the Year 1877 by E.C. Biddle in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The condition of this lithograph shows some browning to the page but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this lithograph is 16 3/4" x 11 1/2".
