Featured in this lot is a collection of eighty antique blown glass Chevron trade beads. Chevron beads have historically been manufactured in Murano, Italy since as early as 1496. Chevron beads are still crafted in Venice today - Albeit in very small quantities. Chevron beads made for export to West Africa, and the Americas are typically blown in a red, white, and blue matrix, much like these beads. Overall, the beads show good to very-good condition, and are strung onto an African grass rope. The necklace measures approximately 24" long.
