For your consideration is an Antique Eastlake Era Walnut Sideboard/ Server/ Buffet, circa 1880, two-piece. It features a pink marble top, beveled mirrored upper section (sometimes referred to as an étagère) with shelves for display, lever-lock hasp for the centre section and a carved pediment, the marble top base section includes two locking side-by-side drawers, a single locking full-width drawer, three left side drawers, one right sidelocking large storage drawer with ornate brass pulls and escutcheons, using pin-and-crescent (Knapp) joinery, and has ebonized accents and is crafted in walnut. A beautiful example of the detailed craftsmanship prevalent in American and European furniture during that period. Eastlake furniture (circa 1870–1890) is a Victorian-era style inspired by British architect Charles Eastlake, designed as a simpler, functional alternative to ornate Rococo Revival pieces. It is characterized by geometric shapes, low-relief incised carvings, turned spindles, and, often, marble tops. Less ornate than high-Victorian, but more decorative than later, plain Mission-style furniture. This Eastlake sideboard buffet is in wonderful condition, all glasswork is clear and intact, marble top is cracked width-wise in the middle yet presents well even with the crack. Brass hardware displays rich patina throughout, walnut finish is nice. Measures assembled 22"W x 48"L x 81"H, upper section weighs and lower section weighs
