Presented in this lot is a collection of Apsáalooke, also spelled Absaroka (Crow), beaded leather moccasins. The Apsáalooke (Crow) are Native Americans living primarily in southern Montana, the tribal headquarters Crow Agency are located in South Central Montana south of Billings, Montana. Crow Indians are a Plains tribe that at one time was allied with the United States against its neighbors and rivals, the Sioux and Cheyenne. Circa early to mid 20th century, two of the pairs are beaded hide uppers with leather soles and the last pair have beaded white leather uppers with leather soles. Seed beads are used extensively in floral and geometric designs. Mocassins are in fair to good condition overall, bead loss noted on each pair. Upper and sole stitching intact, no other obvious marring noted. Two pair measure 10.5"L toe to heel, remaining 10"L toe to heel.
