The lot features a full size papoose cradleboard / cradle board from the Apsaalooke Crow of Montana from the mid-20th century. The lot features a large, full size baby carrier also commonly referred to as a cradle board, cradleboard, and papoose. The piece shows a wooden board covered in tanned hide with a large beaded section at the top in classic early lazy-beaded geometric Maltese cross and diamond / hourglass design in glass trade seed beads. The bottom shows two fully beaded straps that wrap around the entire papoose appearing twice done in glass trade seed beads that are loom beaded with a classic geometric Crow design. The papoose is from an ex-Montana collection. The bottom and top shows nice fringes and the piece displays beautifully. There is a small amount of bead loss, soft hides and is well kept. The body of the piece measures 37-inches long by 11 3/8-inches wide, that does not include the additional 8-inches of fringes at the bottom and 2.5-inches of fringes at the bottom, for a total length of 47.5-inches.
